What Happened|Why You Should Always Guard Your Dolls

Hi! Hey! Hello!

It’s been a little while, hasn’t it? I apologize for that, but unfortunately I’m not quite back yet.

I’m just going to get straight to the point; My dollhouse was completely ransacked and my dolls were mutilated to various degrees, so I’m going to be away from the blogosphere for a little while.

Now that the initial shock is over, let me fully tell you the tale entitled ”What Happened To My Dolls On A Fateful August Tuesday”

{This tale is rated R for ridiculous and H for harmless with a little bit of very mild language and fantasy and sci-fi swear words because the protagonist is a huge fangirl}

Once upon a time, there was a highly intelligent, wise, and very beautiful maiden named Natalie who was loved by the entire kingdom of her household, except possibly by her annoying younger and older brothers, but that’s a story for another day. At any rate, Natalie’s passion in life was her beloved dolls and dollhouse, the lives of which she documented on her blog.

Then, one terrible and fateful day, her mother was hosting a homeschool group at their house, but Natalie was with her Grandma. When Natalie returned home, humming a Broadway showtune and doing the odd pirouette here and there, full of ideas for her blog, she found small children everywhere. In the kitchen, in the bathroom, in HER bedroom, everywhere. Normally, this wouldn’t bother her, Natalie was one of 5 children. But these small, sticky people seemed to be destroying everything. Worried, she ran downstairs to make sure her precious vinyl friends, who knew her every secret, were okay.

Natalie shrieked when she saw her doll area.

Her doll’s furniture, clothing, food, and decor were thrown about like a nuke had exploded in her doll’s home. This alone was terrible enough, but it was worse.

There, among the wreckage, facedown and twisted, were her beloved dolls. Tossed carelessly away, their hair mangled. And there, sitting on top of her beautiful hand-sewn doll dresses, were three, dirty, sticky, careless second grade girls, ripping away at her dolls’ beautiful hair with a plastic barbie comb, trying to stuff a doll into an upside down, inside out retired and very rare doll costume, and spinning a doll around by it’s poor little arm.

Normally Natalie had excellent self control and presence, but that day she completely lost it.

”WHAT THE FRICKING HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?” she screamed. Usually Natalie would have watched her language around young children, but at that moment a stream of fantasy and sci-fi swearing erupted from within her. (Normally Natalie didn’t fantasy swear because nobody ever got the references).

The girls just looked at her.

Natalie finally regained her composure, and said ominously; ”Every one of these dolls I earned with my own blood, tears and sweat, and if you ever get near them again, you will have way bigger problems than me yelling at you.”

They hurried away.

Natalie sank to the floor and examined the damage. It was pretty bad. Some of her handmade decorations for Christmas, Halloween, and Easter had been torn apart. Her dolls lay twisted and limp of the floor. All the organization she had done was now gone. Some accessories were probably lost forever. And quite possibly, worst of all, her beautiful, one of a kind custom doll Michelle, had her wig torn off and had a scrape on her cheek.

After about two days of picking up, brushing doll hair and cleaning doll skin,Β  her dolls were mostly okay. All except for Michelle, who’s wig was destroyed beyond fixing.

Luckily, Natalie’s Mother promised to send Michelle to a reputable doll hospital, and helped pick up, and promised to help Natalie secure her dolls for next time.

The moral of the story; Never, never leave your dollhouse unattended when there are small children about.

The end

Now, honestly, I don’t think the three little girls were deliberately trying to destroy anything, but they certainly weren’t being careful at all. I tried to put a humorous spin on the whole incident, because laughing about things always helps. My doll house can be fixed, and my dolls cleaned and repaired, but from now on, I’ll ALWAYS secure or guard my dolls.

So, meanwhile, Michelle has a new look for a little while. I’m looking for a doll hospital to send her to, and I need to find a new wig for her. My mom suggested that her cancer relapsed, and I decided that that was as good an idea as any.

So, unfortunately, Michelle is bald again.

I’m also going to be on an unofficial hiatus until early September, so I can get everything in order again.

I may post a little bit, but not much.

When I come back in September, I’ll be bursting with new ideas, photos, and crafts.

Thank you guys for understanding! See you in September!

  1. Oooooooohhh noooooooo!!!!!! I’m so sorry about Michelle and your dollhouse!! That’s so terrible! I hope everything gets fixed and Michelle finds a good doll hospital soon! Could you email me a picture of the scrap? I might know how you could fix it but I’d need to see it first.

    1. Exaaaaactly! Yeah, it was pretty awful. I was actually able to get the scrape off with a magic eraser, but she still has one annoying little stain I’d like to get rid of-do you know any tips for that, perchance?

      1. Oh ok, you could use acne cream. I talked about it in my part one of fixing up AG dolls post. There it has all the info of what you need and what to do πŸ™‚ I didn’t end up doing this on Parker so there aren’t pictures, so if you have any questions then feel free to ask!

    1. I KNOW!! IT’S AN OUTRAGE!! I’m going to hire a whole squadron of tough looking bodyguards to look intimidating and glare at anyone who even dares to look at my dollhouse. Good idea, Hope! Oh, no problem, some people are really sensitive about that kind of thing, a courtesy thing.
      Jesus loves you, too!

  4. Oh my, Natalie, that’s horrible! I’ll definitely take your advice and put my dolls away if young children come to my house. I hope you find a doll hospital for Michelle soon! :c

  5. How do you even LIVE after that? I have a cousin with DS and a younger 5 year old cousin, and if they EVER did that to my dolls (that i take extra care to keep in pristine condition as much to my ability)….I would be praying for restraint. But didn’t their parents apologize or do *anything*???

      1. XD Well, RIP you then.
Yeah I think if a wig got ripped off I would be too. (it sounds so violent, lol!)
Wow, seriously?!?! If the damages are bad enough they need to at least apologize, if not pay!
I have? XD Well, good. I’d be a little shaky after that too.

Oh, I wish that was in Sam’s Paisley awards, XD
